Margaret Reynolds Hoge was born and raised in Oklahoma City. After graduating from Heritage Hall and being awarded the Young Talent in Oklahoma scholarship, she attended Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) for two years and graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas with a BFA in All Level Art Education. Post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma led to her Minor in Geology.

Margaret has been influenced by family trips west to the national parks. Combining her love for the beauty of the outdoors, wildlife and geology she is able to combine these elements in a unique combination of Realistic Impressionism. Oil pastel is her medium of choice.

Margaret created the art curriculum and taught grades 5 – 8 at Greenhill School (Dallas, TX), created the curriculum and taught grades K – 6 at Will Rogers Elementary School (Putnam City School District, Oklahoma City), and created the curriculum and taught grades K – 4 at Heritage Hall (Oklahoma City).

Her students have won numerous local, state, national and international art awards. Her art programs have been recognized as one of the top ten programs in the state of Oklahoma. Five student’s work was featured in the major motion picture War of the Worlds.

Margaret has been named Oklahoma Elementary Art Educator of the Year. Margaret designed and created the Oklahoma State ornaments for the Pageant of Peace (Washington DC). She has been listed in Who’s Who in America and in Who’s Who in the World.

Adding a new dimension to her talents, Margaret illustrated Goodnight OKC, published in 2014 for the Junior League of Oklahoma City and If the Fence Could Talk published in 2015 by the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Margaret is an active community volunteer. She has served as President of the Junior League of Oklahoma City and has served on numerous other community boards including the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Board, the OKC Art’s Festival Children’s Art Coordinator, and All Souls Episcopal Church Vestry. Margaret is married and has two children.
